Take a look at what’s replacing the ‘blue baby’ in Hamilton

A new exhibit has been installed at the Fitton Center to replace "Hatched Baby" — better know by many in Hamilton as the big blue baby.

The Fitton Center for Creative Arts has partnered with Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park and City of Sculpture to present “Baroque Trajectory” by artist Michael Poast, a Warren County native.

The seven-foot tall “Baroque Trajectory” was originally installed in Trinity Plaza, New York City in July 2001, just a few blocks south of the Twin Towers.

Damaged just a few months later in the devastating attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, the piece has been restored by a team of artists at Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park and is now on display outside the Fitton Center for the forthcoming year.

The new sculpture replaces Wolfgang Auer's "Hatched Baby," a nine-foot tall sculpture that showed a big blue baby being hatched out of an egg.
