Sunscreen will be needed for Dayton Air Show weekend

The Vectren Dayton Air Show is this weekend and the forecast looks to cooperate.

A cold front that will bring rain and storms Friday will be to our east on Saturday, said Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Kirstie Zontini.

“The very muggy air mass that was once over us will also move out so humidity won't be a problem when you're standing outside enjoying the show,” Zontini said.

Saturday will start in the low 60s and climb to about 80 degrees. Any morning clouds should break for sun in the afternoon.

“Keep in mind that incoming solar radiation will heat the asphalt up and make it feel a little warmer at the airport,” she said. “The UV Index will also be very high so sunscreen will be needed and reapplied throughout the afternoon because a sunburn can develop in less than 30 minutes.”

Sunday will be similar with sunshine and scattered clouds. It also looks to be another dry day as well with low humidity. Temperatures will be a little cooler in the middle 70s. You'll still need the sunscreen and a water bottle being outside through the afternoon.

Last year was a hot one, looking back at records, the Dayton International Airport hit 85 degrees on Saturday and 87 degrees on Sunday when it was held on weekend of June 18.
