JobsOhio ad mistakenly claims John Glenn ‘orbited the moon’

The state’s JobsOhio program bought a full-page advertisement in The Economist magazine that included a mistake stating former astronaut John Glenn orbited the moon

According to Cleveland.com, the insert touting the state’s private economic development program mistakenly touted, “From the Wright brothers inventing powered flight to John Glenn orbiting the moon, Ohio has always been the land of aviation points,” according to Jackie Borchardt’s  report.

The story stated the same mistake was made in a JobsOhio brochure. The state plans on correcting the mistake during its next printing.

Glenn died December 8 at age 95. He was the third American to enter space and was the first to orbit the Earth. He also became the oldest American in space at age 77 when he traveled to space again aboard Spaceshuttle Discovery.
