Staff and Wire reports

It’s been a long time — 22 seasons — since the Cincinnati Bengals have won a playoff game.

To break through for the first time since 1990, the Bengals (10-6) will have to beat the Houston Texans (12-4) on the road at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in the first round of the AFC playoffs at Reliant Stadium.

Houston thumped Cincinnati 31-10 in the opening round of last year’s playoffs.

“I think it will be good,” said Bengals QB Andy Dalton, who grew up in suburban Houston. “We played there last year and know the atmosphere and what it’s going to be like. The experience last year will definitely help us.”

The Bengals won seven of their last eight games to reach the playoffs. The Texans, on the other, lost three of their last four to miss out on a first-round bye.
