McIntyre’s three TD’s lift Triad past Trojans

Triad High School junior running back Tre McIntire scored three touchdowns as the host Cardinals defeated Southeastern 20-14 to remain undefeated in Ohio Heritage Conference on Friday night.

The Trojans started the game recovering an on-side kick. Two plays later, Zane Grove scampered a 45-yard score to give Southeastern an early 7-0 lead.

McIntrye had all three scoring runs in the first half as the Cardinals (9-0, 6-0 OHC) led 20-14 at half.

P.J. Banion was 15-for-30 passing for 104 yards and ran for a score for Trojans (5-4, 3-3 OHC).

Senior Austin Sandford was the work horse for the Triad offense, rushing for 132 yards on 17 carries. The Cardinals stopped three second-half trips into the red zone by Southeastern to set up a title game at West Liberty-Salem next Friday.

West Liberty-Salem 65, Cedarville 7: Ross Hickenbottom returned a school-record three kicks for touchdowns as the Tigers (9-0, 6-0 OHC) stayed tied for first place in the conference.

Hickenbottom had punt returns of 73 and 46 yards and a 80-yard kickoff return. West Liberty started six of it’s 10 first-half drives inside the Indians 30-yard line to build a 44-0 halftime lead.

Shawnee 34, Stebbins 0: Running back Drew Young ran for a career-high three touchdowns as the visiting Braves got their fifth win in their last six games. Quarterback Tyler Bostick was 12-for-18 passing for 142 yards and a touchdown and rushed for a touchdown for the Braves (6-3, 3-1 Central Buckeye Conference).

Tippecanoe 28, Kenton Ridge 7: Jacob Hall ran for three touchdowns for the host Red Devils (8-1, 3-1 CBC).

Mitchell Schneider hit Jordan Harrington with 68-yard scoring strike for the Cougars (6-3, 2-2 CBC) lone score.

Mechanicsburg 28, Catholic Central 26: Aeryton Erwin scored three touchdowns as the Indians held off a late charge by the host Irish. Erwin’s third TD helped Mechanicsburg (3-6, 2-4 OHC) build a 28-14 at half.

Central (1-8, 1-5 OHC) got touchdown runs from Ryan Fain and Reed Buxton in the fourth quarter. The Irish missed an extra point and failed on a two-point conversion pass on both of thos scores.

Northeastern 35, Greeneview 21: The host Jets rushed for a season-high 460 yards to pick up their third straight win.

Cody Parker rushed for 151 yards and Drey Williams added 129 yards and a season-high three touchdowns for Northeastern (4-5, 4-2 OHC). Chance Frye threw and ran for a score for the Rams (4-5, 2-4 OHC).

Northwestern 31, Graham 21: Hunter Houseman scored three touchdowns as the Warriors picked up its first CBC victory.

Houseman had scoring runs of 1- and 68-yards and hit Austin Marshall with a 48-yard scoring toss. Ellis Ulrey had a 45-yard interception return at the end of the second half to give Northwestern (4-5, 1-3 CBC) a 21-7 halftime lead.

Cole Theodor scored two touchdowns in the second half for the host Falcons (1-8, 1-3 CBC).

Northmont 55, Springfield 13: The Wildcats fell to 1-8 and 0-4 in the Greater Western Ohio Conference Central Division with a road loss to the Thunderbolts (6-3, 3-1 GWOC).

Benjamin Logan 47, Greenon 7: The Raiders (4-5) are now tied for second in the CBC Mad River Division with a 3-1 mark. The host Knights are now 1-8 and 0-4 in the CBC.
