Lakota East stunned top-ranked Mount Notre Dame on Thursday night in the Division I regional semifinals at Lebanon High School.
The Thunderhawks handed the Cougars their first loss of the season 25-19, 21-25, 25-22, 25-21 to advance to Saturday’s regional finals. East improved to 23-2. MND finished 25-1. The Cougars beat the Thunderhawks in three games last month.
East will face Ursuline, which outlasted Lakota West 15-25, 25-12, 21-25, 25-22, 15-11. The Lions are 20-6. West finished 20-6.
The regional final is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Lebanon.
