Former Big Blue standout huge in loss to Iowa

By Rick Cassano

Denicos Allen turned in a superlative performance for Michigan State University’s football team last weekend.

The redshirt junior outside linebacker, a Hamilton High School graduate, had 13 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and an interception for the Spartans, who dropped a 19-16, double-overtime decision to visiting Iowa.

The pick was the first of his career. Allen is second on the squad with 42 total tackles and four tackles for loss.

Michigan State, 4-3 overall and 1-2 in the Big Ten Conference Legends Division, visits Michigan on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
