Bowling for another game: Today’s winner will remain in the hunt to become bowl eligible. The MAC already has six bowl-eligible teams: Northern Illinois, Kent State, Toledo, Ohio, Ball State and Bowling Green.

Cruse control: Redshirt senior Andy Cruse ranks seventh in Miami history with 154 career receptions. His 1,603 career yards rank 11th (Tremayne Banks is 10th with 1,622).

Ground gainer: CMU junior Zurlon Tipton has rushed for 100-plus yards in his last four games. Miami is allowing 248.3 yards per contest on the ground.

Picking up steam: MU junior cornerback Dayonne Nunley has 12 career interceptions, four behind all-time leader Ron Carpenter (1990-92), the team’s current defensive backs coach. Nunley is tied with Troy White (1984-86) and Dave Rebsch (1971-73).

Up and down: Central Michigan is No. 1 in the MAC in red-zone proficiency, scoring points (20 touchdowns, 11 field goals) on 31-of-35 trips. But the Chippewas are last in red-zone defense, with opponents scoring at a 91.1-percent rate (41-of-45).
