Next week: Miami hosts Kent State on Saturday at 1 p.m.; Buffalo hosts Western Michigan on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

Miami stats: Quarterback Zac Dysert is 188-of-303 for 2,225 yards and 15 touchdowns with nine interceptions. The top receivers are Dawan Scott (36 catches, 595 yards, five TDs), Andy Cruse (54 catches, 412 yards, four TDs) and Nick Harwell (31 catches, 436 yards, three TDs). The leading rushers are Jamire Westbrook (64 carries, 263 yards, two TDs), Spencer Treadwell (51 carries, 187 yards, one TD) and Dysert (62 carries, 182 yards, one TD).

Buffalo stats: Quarterback Alex Zordich is 106-of-208 for 1,254 yards and nine touchdowns with seven interceptions. The top receivers are Alex Neutz (38 catches, 647 yards, eight TDs) and Devon Hughes (22 catches, 221 yards, one TD). The leading rushers are Branden Oliver (95 carries, 527 yards, three TDs), Zordich (100 carries, 501 yards, one TD) and Devin Campbell (85 carries, 354 yards, one TD).

Bulls QB is out: Buffalo coach Jeff Quinn announced Thursday that Zordich, a junior, will miss today’s game because of an injury, reportedly his ribs. Redshirt freshman Joe Licata (21-of-46, 239 yards, two TDs, one interception) will get the start.

Comparing the kickers: Miami’s Kaleb Patterson is 11-of-13 on field goals and 13-of-15 on extra points, while punter Zac Murphy has a 40.1-yard average with six punts inside the 20-yard line. For the Bulls, Patrick Clarke is 6-of-8 on field goals and 19-of-20 on conversions, and Tyler Grassman has a 34.6-yard punting average with 10 kicks inside the 20.

Ohio boys: Buffalo has 10 Ohio players on its roster, including starting inside linebacker Lee Skinner from Fairborn High School. Skinner, a 6-foot-2, 226-pound sophomore, is second on the team with 55 total tackles.

Clutch D: The RedHawk defense, which is allowing 495.6 yards per game, rose up at key times against Ohio last weekend. The Bobcats were 6-of-17 on third down and scored one touchdown in four trips to the red zone.

On the sideline: Defensive tackle Mike Johns leads Miami with 6.0 tackles for loss, but he’s doubtful for today’s game because of a leg injury.

Needing a win: Buffalo is riding a six-game losing streak. Its lone victory was a 56-34 conquest of Football Championship Subdivision member Morgan State on Sept. 8.
