    Notes and nuggets:

-- The Reds have three chances to close out the best-of-five NLDS series. The Reds will be looking to win their first home playoff game since October 6, 1995 -- a 10-1 victory over the Dodgers in Game 3 of the NLDS.

-- The Giants are looking to avoid being swept in a postseason series for the first time since they were defeated by Florida in the 1997 NLDS.

-- The Reds have outscored the Giants 14-2 in the first two games of the series.

-- In five career postseason games, Brandon Phillips is hitting .409 (9-for-22) with three doubles, two homers, five RBI and a .818 slugging percentage.

-- Of the 42 teams who have gone on to face a 0-2 deficit in Division Series play, 27 of those teams have gone on to be swept.

-- If there is a Game 4 on Wednesday in Cincinnati, it would start at 4:07 p.m. Bochy said Barry Zito would start for the Giants. The Reds have not named a starter.
