Shooting victim uncooperative with Middletown police

A Middletown man allegedly shot Thursday in a residence in the 800 block of Ninth Avenue refused to cooperate with Middletown police when he was interviewed at Atrium Medical Center.

When police talked to the alleged victim, he refused to comment, then told police that a male of unknown race wearing all black was involved in the shooting.

The 24-year-old man allegedly was shot in the lower leg, according to the police report.

Police found pools of blood throughout the residence, the report said.

There were two women and a child in the residence when police arrived, but while officers were checking the house for additional occupants, the three people left, police said.

Police retrieved the bullet that was removed from the victim during surgery at the hospital, police said.
