Save lives and help animals during Hoxworth Blood Center’s ‘Bark Week’

Blood donors have the opportunity to help local animals with their blood donation during Hoxworth Blood Center’s “Bark Week” promotion, taking place Oct. 9-14.

For every donor who gives blood or platelets at a donor center, Hoxworth will give $5 to the animal charity of the donor’s choice.

“Our Bark Week promotion is a great opportunity for our donors to amplify the impact of their donation,” said Alecia Lipton, spokesperson for Hoxworth Blood Center. “Not only will they be helping patients in area hospitals, but they can make a difference in the lives of local animals served by several non-profit organizations.”

Charities on the ballot include Adore-A-Bull Rescue, CARE Center Animal Blood Bank, Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, HART Homeless Animals Rescue Team, SPCA Cincinnati, Save the Animals Foundation, and Tails of Hope.

Donors also have the option to write in a charity.

To schedule an appointment to donate during Bark Week, call 513-451-0910 or visit www.hoxworth.org/groups/bark.

Hoxworth operates a Neighborhood Donor Center in Butler County at 7844 Kingland Drive in West Chester Twp.
