Portillo, a former Middletown City Schools nurse, said she wanted to start a family business to operate with the rest of her family, including her older daughter, who is in college.

“My mom has been in the restaurant business for a long time, my daughter has worked for restaurants, so we put our brains together and decided to do this,” she said. “This is something we can all do together…”

Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. For more information, visit www.Facebook.com/sandwichcafe100 .
