Popular Chinese restaurant reopening under new name, owner

A longtime, popular Hamilton restaurant will soon see new life under a new name, new ownership and an expanded menu.

Asian Lantern is working to open soon at 965 Main St. in a space that for more than three decades was Chinese Lantern. That business closed in December when its owners retired.

The new restaurant, which is working to renovate its kitchen, will retain menu items available on Chinese Lantern’s menu while adding new items, according to new owner Jenny Guan.

That includes things like Korean Spicy Noodles Soup with jumbo shrimp, scallops, crab meat, vegetables and Japanese udon noodles, as well as Hor Fun Noodle Soup with a choice of chicken or beef.
