Arrest made in Middletown shooting

UPDATE @ 1:40 p.m.:

A Middletown man has been arrested for allegedly breaking into a Wicoff Street residence early this morning and shooting a man there.

Franklin Holdbrook is charged with felonious assault, assault, aggravated burglary and having weapons under disability for an incident that occurred at about 4:45 a.m. today

Holdbrook, 33, was arrested shortly after the shooting of Justin Carlyle at a residence in the 600 block of Wicoff Street.

Middletown police Lt. Scott Reeve said it is believed Holdbrook is the ex-boyfriend of a woman who was also assaulted in the incident.

INITIAL REPORT:

A Georgia man was shot early this morning in an apparent domestic incident on Wicoff Street, according to Middletown police.

A resident in the 600 block of Wicoff Street was awaken about 4:45 a.m. by a man who had been shot in the stomach at a neighboring house.

Paramedics transported Justin Carlyle, of Sandersville, Ga., to Atrium Medical Center for treatment.

Middletown Lt. Scott Reeve said Carlyle, 27, has undergone surgery today.

Detectives are talking with people this morning, but as of 11:20 a.m., no one has been charged, Reeve said.
