‘People want to help’: Bracelets benefit injured Middletown officer

A local woman is ordering more bracelets to sell as a fundraiser for an injured Middletown detective.

“People care, they want to help,” said Lauryn Moore, an employee at Triple Moon Coffee Co. in Middletown.

Moore was selling the bracelets Tuesday during the city’s National Night Out event.

“We are going to order more to keep it going,” she said.

Money raised from sales of the $5 bracelets will be used to offset medical expenses of Middletown Police Detective Justin Camper.

Camper is out of the hospital and recovering at home after being injured in a fall last month outside the police station, according to Police Chief Rodney Muterspaw.
