One of the most AMAZING historic sites around is looking for a little help

Fort Ancient is a National Historic Landmark situated on a wooded bluff 245 feet above the Little Miami River. There are 125 acres featuring nearly 18,000 feet of earthen embankments built 2,000 years ago by American Indians during the Hopewell culture.

Rich in flora and fauna, Fort Ancient is a National Historic Landmark as well as the largest and best-preserved hilltop enclosure in the United States.

There are many volunteer opportunities available at Fort Ancient ranging from educational programs, gardening, and grounds keeping. Educational volunteers provide assistance with content specific scavenger hunts in the museum and with hands on activities, as well as help with special events.

Docents are needed for walking the museum and leading small tours. Assistance with the garden and other related outdoor activities is also needed. Helping with grounds maintenance includes weeding, cutting back multiflora and other necessary jobs to keep up the grounds. There are five trails that need to be maintained, light trail work and trash pickup. Help is also needed to maintain the museum and shelter house.
