DAYTON, Ohio — A southwest Ohio chamber of commerce is heading to Cuba in hopes of getting a jump on future business potential on the Communist-led island.

Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce officials see their June trip as a chance to start making connections even though the 50-year-old U.S. trade embargo remains in place.

The Dayton Daily News reports Thursday (http://bit.ly/yQTW1y ) they think changes are coming in Cuba in the next few years that will lead to business opportunities.

Dayton area businesswoman Carla Rivero Palm is excited about the chance to visit her parents' homeland for the first time and see the country she has heard so much about.

So far, 20 of 30 seats have been booked for the nine-day visit, made possible through a U.S. Department of Treasury license.
