DAYTON, Ohio — Andrew Huck ran for three touchdowns and threw for two more in Butler's 31-28 win over Dayton on Saturday.
Butler, which snapped a seven-game losing streak against the Flyers (7-2, 5-1 Pioneer Conference), finished with 235 yards rushing.
The Bulldogs (9-0, 6-0) took a 31-20 lead on a 16-yard touchdown pass from Huck to Carter Walley with 3:27 remaining. The drive began after Butler's Mark Giacomantonio returned an interception 19 yards to the Flyers' 23-yard line.
The scoring pass was the fourth red-zone score for the Bulldogs in as many attempts.
Huck had a 7-yard run and a 7-yard pass to Dan Bohrer late in the second quarter for touchdowns. Huck scored again on a 7-yard run with 5:44 left in the third.
Scott Gray finished with 109 yards on 19 carries for Butler.
Steve Valentino was 29-for-44 with 413 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions for Dayton.
