SANDUSKY, Ohio — A coroner in northern Ohio says an inmate found unresponsive at a county jail died from a blood clot.
Jailers at the Erie County jail say the 47-year-old inmate had been checked minutes before they found him Tuesday.
The Sandusky Register (http://bit.ly/yw1TOi ) reports that Robert Baswell Jr. of Vermilion began acting strangely after taking a fall at the jail about two weeks ago and had been taken to a hospital four times since.
It's the second inmate death this year at the jail in Sandusky.
A 50-year-old woman died at the jail a few hours after she was brought in Jan. 1. Preliminary information suggests a combination of alcohol and pills caused the woman's death. Authorities are waiting for autopsy results.
