Winter Storm Watch issued

By Skip Weaver

A winter storm watch is in effect from late Tuesday through late Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

A watch means there is potential for significant snow. Snow is expected to develop after 1 a.m. Tuesday night and continue through Wednesday before tapering off. Accumulations of 4-6 inches are possible. Sleet may also mix with snow on Wednesday.

Winds are expected between 10-20 miles per hour with gusts up to 30 mph.
