Cincinnati health system TriHealth bought the independent Hamilton doctors group General and Vascular Surgeons of Butler County, TriHealth announced today.

The purchase supports TriHealth’s acquisition in 2012 of the former Butler County Medical Center in Hamilton, 3125 Hamilton-Mason Road. TriHealth renamed the small hospital and outpatient medical facility Bethesda Butler County TriHealth Hospital.

In announcing that physicians of General and Vascular Surgeons have joined TriHealth, the network also said that it has formed the new general surgery doctors practice TriHealth Surgical Institute.

General and Vascular Surgeons of Butler County includes doctors Tarun Goel, Douglas Hingsbergen, H.S. Ramadas, and Karen Summe; they are now part of the newly-formed TriHealth Surgical Institute. Also, Butler County vascular surgeon Dr. Richard Glaser becomes part of the existing doctors group TriHealth Heart Institute.

TriHealth Heart Institute has opened offices at Bethesda Butler County.

General and Vascular Surgeons of Butler County will keep its offices in Hamilton, Fairfield, Oxford and Ross Twp., said Dr. Hingsbergen.

The biggest advantage of being with TriHealth is the support the larger network can provide the doctors in changing times for health care, especially with meeting new government regulations, Hingsbergen said. He is one of the original 16 investors in Butler County Medical Center, previously a physician-owned hospital.

“The TriHealth Surgical Institute manages the entire surgical experience for our patients,” said Jerry Oliphant, TriHealth executive vice president and chief operating officer, in a statement. “In addition, the surgeons joining our team are widely regarded for their excellent quality and are among the leading surgeons in both Hamilton and Butler County.”

The health system TriHealth includes Cincinnati hospitals Bethesda North and Good Samaritan, Bethesda Butler County, and Bethesda Medical Center at Arrow Springs in Lebanon.
