A southwestern Ohio prisoner who voluntarily submitted his DNA to become a police informant instead matched a serial rape case involving three women and a 15-year-old girl who were attacked in a seven-month period last year, authorities said Monday.

Tony Pippin, of Colerain, is facing 21 felony charges in all, including rape, sexual battery, assault and pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor.

Pippin’s Cincinnati attorney, Seth Tieger, did not immediately return a call for comment Monday.

Pippin, 39, already was in custody on burglary and assault charges stemming from his Dec. 15 arrest when he recently voluntarily submitted to a DNA test in hopes of becoming a police informant.

Instead, authorities said his DNA connected him to the rape cases, all in the Delhi Township area just west of Cincinnati. He faces 100 years in prison if convicted of the charges.

Three women were attacked in separate incidents between April and September after leaving the same Delhi Township bar; one of them was able to escape while the other two were raped. The teen was raped on Nov. 2 inside Pippin’s home in a videotaped assault, authorities said.

Prosecutors have the tape.

“This piece of human garbage deserves to rot in prison for the rest of his life,” Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph Deters said in a news release.

He said investigators believe that Pippin submitted his DNA to ingratiate himself with police and didn’t know how far along their investigation into the rapes was.

Hamilton County court records show that Pippin has an extensive criminal history that includes assault, robbery and illegally performing tattoos on minors.

His ex-girlfriend also sought a protection order against him after she reported that on Nov. 6, Pippin tried to sic his dog on her and her boyfriend outside a gas station and threatened to shoot her and beat him up, court records show.

Deters said authorities believe there could be other rape victims and ask anyone with information to call Delhi police at (513) 922-0060.
