Police reports: Suspect threatens victim in court

Jan. 29

A cellphone was stolen from a locker between 4 and 5:15 p.m. from a locker at the Great Miami Valley YMCA, 105 N. Second St.

A rear license plate was stolen from a van while it was parked between 9 p.m. Jan. 28 and 6 p.m. Jan. 29 in the 100 block of Main Street.

An unknown substance was placed on a window of a vehicle that was parked before 8:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Gordon Smith Boulevard.

An air conditioning unit was stolen between 6 p.m. Jan. 26 and 8 a.m. Jan 28 from the rear of the Friends on 3rd building, 401 N. Third St.

A backpack, an iPad, a laptop computer, a removable hard drive, three flash drives, and a wallet containing a credit card, two bank cards, and other personal identification were stolen between 12:30 and 7:06 p.m. from Miami University Hamilton, 1601 University Blvd.

Exterior door glass was broken by an unknown person between 8:30 and 10:50 a.m. from an apartment in the 2200 block of Grand Boulevard.

About 8:25 p.m., a person walked into Singletary’s Market, 733 S. Second St., and began to yell and scream at the person working behind the counter as well as making several threats. A display case of gum was knocked over as the person fled the store in an unknown direction.

A gold necklace, valued at $2,976, was stolen after a party between 5 and 11 p.m. Jan. 22 at an apartment in the 500 block of South Front Street. The theft report was filed with police on Jan. 29.

Jan. 30

A laptop computer (with the hard drive removed) and a watch were stolen from a vehicle that was parked overnight in the 1100 block of Bonacker Avenue. The value of the missing items was estimated at $1,000.

Three four-ton air conditioning/heating units, each valued at $6,500, were between Jan. 5 and Jan. 29 from the 1700 block of South Erie Boulevard.

Locks were broken and two window boards were removed sometime before 10:30 a.m. to gain entry into a storage area at TSR Machinery, 3168 Production Drive. A city health department employee discovered the break-in where 200 pounds of stainless steel, valued at $2,000; about 200 pounds of aluminum, valued at $2,000; and an aluminum heater measuring 12 feet wide and 3 feet tall, also valued at $2,000, were stolen.

A resident reported her unlocked vehicle was ransacked while it was parked in the 900 block of Millville Avenue.

A laptop computer that was unattended for a moment was stolen between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Wilks Building at Miami University Hamilton, 1601 University Blvd. When the owner returned to the room, the laptop was gone.

Between 7:30 and 11:45 a.m., someone made $650 in unauthorized online purchases on a debit card that belonged to a resident in the 3600 block of Benninghoffen Avenue.

About 3:39 p.m., a porcelain statue, a door and glass shelf were damaged after a person forced her way into a residence in the 100 block of Webster Avenue to fight another person at the residence. The person fled the residence before police arrived.

Between Jan. 24 and Jan. 30, someone went through the first floor bedroom window to enter a vacant residence in the 1000 block of Corwin Avenue and cut the copper line to a 71-gallon water heater; the copper line and faucet to a utility sink were damaged; and copper water lines throughout the basement were cut and stolen from the basement area.

While waiting for a court case about 2 p.m. in the Butler County Government Services Building, 315 High St., a suspect ran toward the victim and threatened to kill the victim. The suspect had to be physically restrained by another person in the hallway until sheriff’s deputies arrived.
