Police reports: Rock dropped from railroad overpass

March 17

A motorist in the 500 block of High Street around 3:15 p.m. reported several juveniles on the railroad overpass dropped a large rock that crashed through his sunroof and landed on the passenger seat. The motorist was able to detain the juveniles until police arrived and arrested the juvenile who threw the rock. Total estimated damage is $700.

Someone broke into the office at Heritage Family Medical, 903 NW Washington Boulevard between 5 p.m. March 15 and noon March 17 and broke into a filing cabinet.

Someone threw a large chunk of concrete through the window of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Lulu Avenue around 6:45 a.m.

Someone broke a window and several coffee mugs at Hamilton Baptist Church, 1050 NW Washington Blvd. between 8 a.m. March 15 and 8 a.m. March 17.

Someone broke the back window of a business in the 700 block of Welliver Drive sometime between 9:30 p.m. March 16 and 4 a.m. March 17. Nothing was reported stolen.

A man reported someone asked him for a ride to the Marathon gas station at Dixie Highway and Laurel Avenue around 4 p.m. When he got there, the driver went inside to get something to drink and returned to his vehicle to find the suspect was gone, along with $143 of the man’s money.

Someone struck a man several times in the back of the head and the face in the 1000 block of Goodman Avenue around 12:50 a.m. The suspect also tried to cut the man with a knife but was stopped by the suspect’s husband.

A woman in the 200 block of N. Eastview Parkway reported that her ex-boyfriend was upset due to their recent break-up. He smashed his head through the woman’s front door, punched a hole in it, then threw a television to the ground and broke out the rear window to the woman’s vehicle. Total estimated damage is $715. The man also threatened to blow up her vehicles.

A woman reported that she put blankets, clothes and a car seat cover in a washing machine at Daisy’s Wash & Dry, 2970 Dixie Highway between 10 and 10:30 p.m. When she returned to the business after leaving to pick up her child, she discovered all items were missing. Total estimated value is $330.

March 18

Theft of a vehicle from the 500 block of Franklin Street between 10 p.m. March 17 and 12:30 p.m. March 18. The owner reported that she leaves the keys in the ignition and the doors unlocked.

A woman reported that she was walking in the 1200 block of Parrish Avenue around 3 p.m. March 14 when she was chased by a juvenile and dropped her cellphone. When she returned to retrieve the phone, it was gone. Total estimated value is $100.
