Hamilton police reports: Fake $20 bills used at restaurant

Jan. 20

A large flatscreen television and a DVD player were stolen between 6:30 a.m. and 9:20 p.m. from a residence in the 300 block of North B Street.

Someone kicked in a back door about 11:19 p.m. during an attempted burglary in the 900 block of East Avenue.

Jan. 21

About $12 in change, a pill holder and two knifes were stolen from an unlocked truck while it was parked overnight in a driveway in the 500 block of Leo Drive.

A computer valued at $1,200 was stolen between 4 and 7 p.m. Jan. 17 from behind the information technology desk in the 1600 block of University Boulevard.

A person attempted to steal more than $1,200 worth of merchandise that was in a cart about 8:32 p.m. from the Walmart store, 1505 Main St.

A wallet containing $180, personal identification and a child support card, was stolen while the victim was parked about 10 p.m. at South Sixth and Sycamore streets.

An attempted robbery was reported about 11:30 p.m. Jan. 20 in the 0 to 100 block of Brookwood Avenue.

Two people entered the back door of a residence and cut a person in the right leg with a knife about 11 p.m. Jan. 20 in the 200 block of North E Street. During the assault, one of the suspects took the victims driver’s license, Social Security card and $200.

A temporary license tag was stolen between 8:30 a.m. Jan. 20 and 8:30 p.m. Jan. 21 from a vehicle parked in the 800 block of Gordon Smith Boulevard.

A PlayStation 3 game system and controller were stolen overnight during a burglary in the 200 block of Chamberlin Drive.

A Kindle Fire tablet and charger were stolen overnight from a residence in the 1300 block of Carver Place.

Three pieces of jewelry, with a total value of $2,900, were stolen before 5:25 p.m. from a residence in the 1500 NW Washington Boulevard.

A person attempted to use a counterfeit $20 bill for a food order about 4:35 p.m. at the Rally’s, 1796 S. Erie Blvd. When told the $20 bill was fake, the suspect left the bill and food and drove north on South Erie Boulevard. A similar incident occurred between 5 and 11 p.m. on Jan. 20.

A cooling coil from an air conditioning unit was stolen overnight from a residence in the 800 block of Laurel Avenue.

About 5:07 p.m., someone broke out the windows of a vehicle that was parked in the 700 block of Belle Avenue. An assault was also reported when a woman at the same address said that suspects beat her with a stick as well as punched and kicked her.

A cell phone was stolen from a counter about 4:55 p.m. in the 900 block of Laurel Avenue.

A person was arrested about 10:30 p.m. after attempting to seal a bottle of MD 40/40 from the Main Street Market, 1204 Main St.

Jan. 22

Five thumb drives and an SD card were stolen about 1:30 p.m. from the Dollar General store, 3107 Dixie Highway.

A purse containing a wallet and credit cards was stolen about 6:20 p.m. from a residence in the 1200 block of Clovernook Drive. The suspect then stole the victim’s vehicle.

A pry tool was used about 10:55 a.m. to open a side door of a residence in the 900 block of Mark Avenue. The suspect opened the door and saw the person who discovered the crime and then fled westbound from the scene.

Between Jan. 20 and Jan. 21, someone used a BB gun to shoot three small holes in the vinyl siding on the front of a residence in the 1800 block of Parrish Avenue.

About $75 worth of art supplies were stolen about 11:03 a.m. Jan. 8 from the Hobby Lobby, 780 NW Washington Boulevard.

A laptop computer was stolen overnight from a residence in the 1200 block of Harmon Avenue.

Someone used a check for a $30 purchase Jan. 17 without the knowledge of the owner who resides in the 1300 block of Dayton Street.

Between Jan. 18 and Jan. 22, someone busted a hole into the side of a residence in the 300 block of C Street where countertops in the kitchen were torn out, copper pipes were stolen, a water meter was ripped from the wall of the house. In addition there was water damage from water leaking for four days in the kitchen and bathroom and the water heater was also damaged.

An iPhone was stolen between 5 and 6 p.m. from the girls locker room at 1165 Eaton Avenue. The suspect was seen on security cameras entering the girls locker room between the times the property was taken.

A person attempted to make a purchase with a counterfeit $10 bill about 6 p.m. at the Sunoco gas station, 701 High St.

A car was stolen about 6:20 p.m. while it was parked in the 1200 block of Clovernook Drive.

Prescription medications were stolen between 10 and 11 p.m. from an unlocked vehicle that was parked in the 1100 block of Shuler Avenue.

A pry mark was found on a garage door about 12:30 a.m. at Richie’s Auto Body, 336 S. B St.

Someone used a hammer to break the front window about 12:30 a.m. at Hughes Pharmacy, 302 Main St. The hammer was found in an aisle of the store.

Jan. 23

A pry tool was used to force open the front door during an overnight break-in at Millikin & Fitton Law Firm, 232 High St.

The driver’s side rear window was broken on a vehicle that was parked overnight at Oak Street and Liberty Avenue. About $600 in books, a laptop computer valued at $550, and a bookbag was stolen from the vehicle.

Prescription medication was stolen between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. from a residence in the 1400 block of Diana Drive.

Counterfeit $20 bills were passed sometime between midnight and 11:59 p.m. Jan. 22 at the McDonald’s restaurant, 1331 NW Washington Blvd.
