Police reports: 4 puppies stolen from home

Someone stole four Doberman Pinscher puppies from a home in the 1200 block of Chestnut Street between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. A rear door window and door chain were broken to gain access. Total estimated value of the puppies is $2,000.

Someone used a beer can to break out a front window of a residence in the 100 block of Livingston Road at 2:30 a.m. Total estimated value was not provided.

Two men attacked a man and cut him on the left hand as he walking in the area of North 2nd Street and Dayton Street around 4:25 a.m. Both suspects then fled the scene on foot.

Theft of various groceries from Kroger, 1474 Main Street, at 5:35 p.m. A store employee saw a woman pushing a grocery cart full of items without paying for them. When the employee contacted the suspect near her vehicle, the woman said the cashier didn’t give her a receipt, then drove off. Police caught up with the woman and arrested her. Total estimated value of the items taken was $175.

Theft of copper pipes from the basement of a home in the 600 block of North D Street between 4 and 9 p.m. Total estimated value was not provided.

A man sitting on the front porch of a building in the 800 block of Gordon Smith around 7 p.m. was approached by someone who thought he was “looking at him funny.” The suspect said he wanted to fight the man. When the man refused to get up and fight, the suspect started to punch the man, who was taken by Hamilton paramedics to Fort Hamilton Hospital for pain in his chest and left shoulder.

Someone called the city of Hamilton 911 dispatchers three times and made false calls for police and life squad dispatchers to respond to a home in the 300 block of South Front Street between 10:13 p.m. Sunday and 12:19 a.m. Monday.

Theft of a carton of cigars and change from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Cambridge Drive sometime between 11 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday. Total estimated value is $45.

Theft of an air mattress from Walmart, 1505 Main Street, at 6:51 p.m. An employee told police the suspect stole the property, then returned it for cash. Total estimated value is $89.
