Police blotter: Craigslist car purchase goes sour

Sept. 30

Someone broke out the front passenger side window of a vehicle parked between 11:45 and 1:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Joe Nuxhall Way and stole a purse that contained several credit cards and an unknown amount of cash.

Oct. 1

A rock was thrown through a glass door between Sept. 28 and Oct. 1 at the Butler County Health Department, 301. South Third St.

Someone went through the glove box of a car parked overnight in the 1000 block of Corwin Avenue.

About $250 and two cell phones were stolen overnight in the 1900 block of Edison Avenue.

A mini-bike was stolen between noon Sept. 30 and 10 a.m. Oct. 1 from the 1400 block of Helma Avenue.

A debit card was stolen between Sept. 27 and Oct. 1 from the Gold Star Chili, 2045 S. Erie Blvd. The card has been used several times at various Hamilton locations totalling $530.73.

A resident in the 0 to 100 block of Linda Lane tried to buy a vehicle through Craigslist on Sept. 25 and sent the seller a money order for $1,913. The resident tried to contact the seller who has not returned any of the resident’s calls.

Two people stole a check from a woman in the 400 block of Beeler Avenue and cashed it for $280.

An iPod, two amplifiers and a speaker were stolen overnight from a vehicle parked in the 600 block of Minor Avenue.

Someone entered an unlocked back door of a residence between noon and 2 p.m. from a residence inthe 1200 block of Hanover Street to steal a laptop computer, a desktop computer and a 42-inch flat screen television.

A 6-foot ladder and an 8-foot ladder were stolen overnight Sept. 28 from the 1100 block of Clovernoon Drive.

A woman was arrested after being seen concealing nearly $101 in general merchandise in her purse about 8:30 p.m. at the Kroger store, 1450 S. Erie Highway.
