HAMILTON —

German Village Historic District is inviting everyone over for Christmas this weekend.

Carriage bells will be ringing from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday for the 21st annual Christmas Walk.

The German Village historic district was the first historic district established in Hamilton in 1973 and listed on the National Register of Historical Places in 1989, said event chair Ann Dennet. The buildings date from early 1800 to 1900.

“Visitors can purchase crafts and gifts at various locations and enjoy many tasty delights along the way,” she said.

All events are free, she said, and toy soldiers will greet visitors at all buildings that are open. Complete entertainment schedules and a map will be available.

Horse-drawn carriage rides will be available beginning at noon, and Yuletide Brass, a quartet of strolling musicians in Dickens attire, will perform on the streets from 12:30 to 3 p.m.

St. Julie Billiart Church will present “Comfort and Joy – A Musical Reflection on Christmas,” presented by Cincinnati Pops trumpter Douglas Lindsay and friends at 3 p.m.

The YWCA will offer a story hour at 11 a.m., a marionette show at noon and Celtic Aire from 1 to 3 p.m.

The Lane Libary will hold a book sale during the entire event, and will feature live entertainment from the Clark and Jones Trio at 1:30 and the Chris Comer Trio at 3:30 p.m.

Dave Holderman, aka “The Balloon Guy,” will be set up at Wilks Insurance from noon to 2 p.m. and at Mirrors Salon from 2 to 4 p.m.

Santa Claus will be on hand in the Emma Ritchie Auditorium at the Butler County Historical Society from 1 to 4 p.m.

Reindeer from Whitetail Acres and Deer Farm and animals from the Serendipity Farms petting zoo will be available from 1 to 4 p.m. on Linden Street in the lot behind the United Way building.
