A Middletown schools employee who allegedly admitted to police he had sexual contact with a former student has been indicted on two counts of sexual battery.

El-Mon Jamil Prier, 39, was indicted Wednesday and is scheduled to be arraigned Nov. 6. Prier is free on his own recognizance. He was charged for allegedly having sexual contact two years ago with a male student who police believe was at least 18 years old at the time, according to police.

The investigation began Aug. 22 when a 17-year-old male high school student reported Prier had made advances toward him via the Internet on Facebook. The incident was reported to school administrators and then to police. During the investigation, Prier allegedly admitted to having sexual contact with the former student, Lt. Scott Reeve said.

Prier was placed on administrative leave after the charges were filed in Middletown Municipal Court.

Prier was an aide at Middletown High School and made $15.49 an hour. He held substitute certificates from 1997 to 2006 and has held an educational aide permit since 2003. There is no record of disciplinary actions.
