FAIRFIELD —
A man is recovering at an area hospital after nearly having his leg cut off in an industrial accident Monday morning.
Police responded to LWG Finishing on Le Saint Drive at about 9:30 a.m. on a report that an employee there had nearly severed his lower right leg in a machine, said Fairfield police officer Doug Day. A medical helicopter flew the man to University Hospital. The identity of the man has not been released.
A representative for LWG Finishing was not immediately available for comment. The company’s website describes the business as a hard chroming company, working also in grinding and metal polishing.
