HAMILTON —

A Hamilton man already out on bond awaiting a trial on heroin-related drug charges was arrested again Thursday night on trafficking charges.

Willie Prater, 41, 3 Hampshire Court Apt. 10, is now facing trafficking in heroin and cocaine charges after agents from the Butler County Undercover Regional Narcotics (BURN) Taskforce raided his residence at about 11:30 p.m. They found 32 grams of heroin, 8 grams of powder cocaine, and 7 grams of crack cocaine at the apartment, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

In addition to the drugs, agents also seized a 1998 Lexus.

Prater had been out on bond for several similar drug-related charges that were filed by the same agents after a search warrant was executed at his residence in November. He was indicted by a Butler County grand jury on 11 felony drug charges, including possession and trafficking of heroin and cocaine.

He was arraigned Friday in Hamilton Municipal Court, where bond on the new charges was set at $250,000. He remains housed at the Butler County Jail.

Pater has a record of 66 arrests, including burglary, robbery, drug trafficking, domestic violence and drug abuse dating back to 1993, according to Hamilton Municipal Court documents.

“I guess some people just don’t seem to get it,” Sheriff Richard Jones said.“Possessing and dealing in drugs is against the law. If they want to continue to peddle their poison, we are going to continue to arrest them — plain and simple.”
