FAIRFIELD —
Fairfield police say a man walking along Dixie Highway died early Thursday morning when he was struck by a vehicle.
The incident happened around 2:47 a.m. at Dixie Highway just north of Seward Road.
The name of the deceased is being withheld until family members can be notified, according to Sgt. Kevin Rednour, of the Fairfield Police Department.
The driver stopped after hitting the man and is cooperating with police, Rednour said.
It’s unclear if the driver of the vehicle will face charges, he said.
The crash remains under investigation.
