Clouds to clear Monday night and drop temps

MIAMI VALLEY —

Temperatures will drop through the 40s this evening as the clouds quickly clear out, but the breeze that was a feature of Monday’s weather day will give way to a cold night, Storm Center 7 Chief Meteorologist Jamie Simpson said.

By sunrise Tuesday, area temperatures will have dropped into the mid to upper 30s and that pattern will mean some spotty frost, Simpson said, but nothing too thick or widespread.

The good news is that Tuesday will be sunny all day with afternoon lows in the 60s. Clouds and a possible spotty shower return Tuesday, with the best chance showers occurring north. They will be produced by a warm front that might bring warmer air after the rain ends and it moves through the viewing area.

Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week, starting in the low 50s and climbing into the 70s by the afternoon. More widespread rain is expected Wednesday night and there could be some thunder, said Simpson.

Rain will taper off fairly early Thursday as a cold front moves through that will drop temperatures. Highs will reach the low 60s then fall back into the 50s for Friday and Saturday.
