Two injured after car hits curb, flips onto side

Staff Report

HAMILTON — Two people were injured in one-vehicle crash early this morning after a car landed on its side.

Around 1:10 a.m., Hamilton police said they responded to the intersection of Vista and Irene avenues to find a car in the front yard of a home.

Lt. Gerald Martin said the vehicle was traveling east on Vista when the driver failed to negotiate a northbound turn onto Irene.

“The vehicle struck the curb and flipped, sliding across the road and landing in a front yard on its side,” Martin said.

Two occupants were trapped in the vehicle and extricated by Hamilton firefighters. The passenger was treated and released from The Fort Hamilton Hospital.

The driver was taken from Fort Hamilton to Kettering Medical Center for further treatment, according to police.

Police have not released the names of those involved. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
