Police found two large baggies of marijuana in the bedroom and a bag of marijuana and digital scales in the living room, according to the police reports.

When police searched the basement, they found a specially-made room where marijuana was growing. There were two medium-sized marijuana plants that were growing with lighting and other items used in the growth of marijuana, police said.

Tim Adkins, 27, of Lafayette Avenue, was charged with drug abuse/marijuana, cultivation of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Michelle Plumbo, 26, of Lafayette Avenue, was charged with permitting drug abuse. RICK McCRABB

Two arrested for possession of crack cocaine

Two Middletown men were arrested for possession of crack cocaine following a traffic stop Feb. 7 at the intersection of Howard Avenue and South Sutphin Street, according to police.

Police pulled over Mike Becraft, 47, of Caprice Drive, last week because his license plate wasn’t lit and strong fumes were emitting from his muffler. During the search of his vehicle, police found crack cocaine, weighing about .21 grams, they said. He told officers he bought the drugs from a man at a bar, according to the report.

Police went to Miller’s Lounge, and found Jamel Tyler, 25, of Cleveland Street, sitting at the bar. When police searched Tyler, they found 1.5 grams of crack cocaine, in eight individual wrapped bundles, ranging from .17 grams to .21 grams, police said.

He had $260 in cash. He was arrested for possession of crack cocaine and trafficking in crack cocaine and transported to City Jail.

Becraft was charged with possession of crack cocaine and for no license plate light and muffler defect. RICK McCRABB
