Liberty, West Chester townships announce 2011 road projects

LIBERTY TWP. — The Butler County Engineer’s Office in conjunction with West Chester and Liberty townships has been planning road improvements for 2011.

Liberty Twp. improvements

Butler Warren Road from Tylersville to Bethany Road will be widened to five lanes early this summer with a curb and gutter. The project, in conjunction with Warren County and the Ohio Department of Transportation, is estimated to cost $9.6 million and will be paid for with federal, state and county dollars. A sidewalk/bikeway will be installed for the limits of the project, which ultimately will be incorporated into the Miami-2-Miami Corridor Plan.

Also in spring or early summer, turning lanes will be added to the intersection at Hamilton-Mason Road at Highpoint Boulevard/Glenview farms at an estimated cost of $188,071, according to the Butler County Engineer’s Office.

2011 road repairs

The following roads will be paved: Kyles Station Road from Butler-Warren west 1,930 feet; Tarragon Court from Hamilton-Mason to Somerset Drive; Whitcomb Drive from Tarragon west 150 feet; Huckleberry Drive from Boysenberry to 175 feet west of Berry Blossom Court; Raspberry Ridge from Huckleberry to Loganberry and Dudley Park lot and drive.

The following roads will receive black matting (slurry) : Boysenberry Drive from Huckleberry to Dewberry Court; Dewberry Court; Elderberry Court; Tarragon Court from Somerset to the cul-de-sac; St. Albans Way and Walliswood Court.

The following roads will be retraced: Maud Hughes Road from Millikin Road to Kyles Station Road; Kyles Station Road from Cincinnati-Dayton Road to Butler-Warren Road and Lesourdsville-West Chester Road from Princeton Road to Millikin Road.

West Chester Twp. improvements

In addition to the combined Liberty Twp. projects, there will be work on the following roads:

Railroad crossings will be replaced in March on Crescentville and Rialto roads at N&S RR; The Rialto Road bridge over Mill Creek will be replaced in September, costing about $550,000 from state and county funds; Tylersville Road from Lakota Hills Drive to Cincinnati Dayton Road will be widened to three lanes and from Cincinnati Dayton Road to Wetherington will be widened to five lanes. The start date is estimated for late spring and may cost around $3.6 million from federal, state and county money; ditch and embankment improvements will be made at Tylersville Road west of Smith Road in July, costing about $400,000 from county funds; U.S. 42 from Fields Ertel Road to Butler Warren Road will be widened to three lanes this spring costing around $9.4 million; intersection improvements will be made to U.S. 42 and Dimmick Road and a crosswalk with flashers will be installed at Lakota West High School on West Chester Road, costing $20,000 in county funds.

Shady Knoll from Shady Hollow to Shady Hollow; Holly Hill Lane from Cherry Lane Farms to cul-de-sac; Holly Hill Lane from House 6215 to cul-de-sac; Martins Way from cul- de-sac to Holly Hill; Hedge Row from Carey Woods to cul-de-sac; Willow Crest from Holly Hill to cul-de-sac; Spruce Run from Holly Hill to Chappelfield; Matthes Drive from Chappelfield to Pinter; Stuart Court from Chappelfield to cul-de-sac; Chappelfield Drive from cul-de-sac to cul-de- sac; Marcus from Beckett Pointe to cul-de-sac, Lindfield from Beckett Ridge to cul-de-sac; Westberry from Hillsdale to cul-de-sac; New Market from Coachford to cul-de-sac;

Asphalt Paving will take place at Thunderbird; Devit Drive from Ohio 747 to cul-de-sac; Senour from Whitehall to Whitehall; Tanglewood from Senour to cul-de-sac; Silverwood & Bannerwood; Pinemill from cul-de-sac to cul-de-sac; Falls Ridge from Pinemill to cul-de-sac; Shaggy Bark Drive from Live Oak to cul-de-sac; Clarinbridge Court from Commanche to cul-de-sac; Ridgecrest from Brookridge to Delview; Delview from Ridgecrest to cul-de- sac; Joan Drive from the end of curb to cul-de-sac; Joan Drive from Cox to end of curb; Saxton from Joan Drive to curb section; Debbie Drive from West Chester to cul-de-sac; Sutton from Ashley to new pavement; Allen Road from Union Centre Boulevard to Bakery Craft second driveway; Raintree Circle from McCauly to cul-de-sac; Circle Freeway from Crescentville to Crescentville; Plantation from Tylersville to dead end; Cascade from Plantation to Twin Creek and Gold Park from Port Union to cul-de-sac.
