Butler Co. search for meth nets 6 arrests

HAMILTON —

A 49-year-old man was arrested on drug-related charges and five others were taken in on various other charges in a methamphetamine investigation by a county narcotics unit.

The arrests occurred during a search of three city residences Wednesday evening by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Undercover Regional Narcotics Taskforce, the sheriff’s office said in information released to area media Thursday evening.

The following people, all Hamilton residents, were arrested:

* Charles Sparks, 630 Heaton St., on a charge of felony illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs;

* Pamela Hibbard, 49, also of 630 Heaton St., on a warrant through city Municipal Court stemming for failure to file an application for dog tags;

* Kevin Smith, 42, 5275 Augspurger Road, on two contempt of court warrants out of Municipal Court;

* Rose Jackson, 48, 431 North 3rd St., contempt warrant out of Municipal Court;

* Paul Smith, 54, also of 431 North 3rd St., two appearance warrants out of county Juvenile Court and a domestic violence warrant out of county Area Court II;

* Tonya Smith, 26, also of 431 North 3rd St., two appearance warrants from county Juvenile Court.

According to the sheriff’s office, agents seized items from the addresses on Heaton and North 3rd that are commonly used to make methamphetamine.
