Annual expo to feature about 80 area businesses, organizations

HAMILTON — Approximately 80 area businesses and organizations will showcase and sell their products and services this week in the Greater Hamilton Chamber of Commerce’s 22nd annual Business Expo 2012.

Participation in the expo has remained “fairly consistent” in the six years the event has been held at Badin High School, according to Laura Merrill, expo coordinator and membership sales associate.

“I think that says a lot about the businesses,” she said. “They appreciate the event and they want to be able to get out there and talk to people.”

The expo runs from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Badin, 571 New London Road, and makes for a “one-stop shop” for businesses looking to spread the word about their product or services to numerous people in a short amount of time, Merrill said. “We’ve got everything all in one place,” she said.

Each guest who visits six expo vendors will earn a raffle ticket. Tickets also will be available for purchase at $1 each, six for $5 or 15 for $10.

Art Friedrich, founder owner and president of Butler Water Systems, has participated in the expo every year to promote his business, which sells, rents, services and repairs water softeners, reverse osmosis systems and water refining equipment. “When you have 500 to 600 people coming in front of your display, I think you’re doing yourself an injustice as a business person not to be there.” Friedrich said.
