Hazardous travel conditions, but quieter day ahead

SOUTHWEST OHIO —

The snow is over, according to Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Rich Wirdzek, but while the snow has finished falling across the area, blowing and drifting will create dangerous travel conditions for Thursday morning’s commute.

“Blowing and drifting will still be an issue through the morning commute, even as winds lighten up some,” Wirdzek said. “Considerable problems will exist on many roads for the commute overall.”

The day is expected to be much quieter and a few breaks of sun in the afternoon will allow high temperatures to approach 30 degrees, Storm Center 7 Meteorologist Erica Collura said.

Thursday night will have some frigid temperatures across the area, as clearing skies will lead to some low temperatures in the upper teens.

Sun is expected to give way to clouds Friday with highs near 30.

The next chance for snow across the region moves in Saturday morning. The snow from that system will likely affect the southern and eastern counties, with some lighter accumulations possible, according to Collura.

“Some lighter accumulations are possible that will make some roads bad again, but this will not be like the storm we just had,” Collura said.

Temperatures will stay a little below average into the weekend with highs around 30 Saturday and 25 on Sunday.
