FRANKLIN —
Vork Motor Transport closed abruptly Thursday afternoon, the owner telling News Center 7 that his company was the victim of the languishing economy.
The owner, who declined to be identified by name, said 24 drivers, office workers and mechanics were laid off Thursday.
The owner said he has been in business for 23 years. There was no word about the future of the building, 711 Business Parkway, or its equipment.
