Two arrested in meth lab bust

By Lauren Pack, Staff Writer

FAIRFIELD TWP. — A raid Thursday night of a Fairfield Twp. home shut down a functioning methamphetamine lab and resulted in two arrests, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

Agents from Butler County Sheriff’s Office drug task force busted the operation about 8 p.m. at 7043 Beagle Court, where Ronnie D. Fields, 53, of Fairfield Twp. and Joshua T. Owen, 30, of Trenton were taken into custody.

Officers from the sheriff’s office as well as Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations dismantled and neutralized the meth lab that included chemicals, glassware and literature on the manufacturing process, according to the sheriff’s office.

Fields was charged with illegal manufacture of drugs, a second-degree felony; and illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs, a third-degree felony. Owen is also charged through the same court with illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs.

Thursday’s meth lab bust is the latest of several in the area as apart of an ongoing crackdown by the sheriff’s office drug task force.
