Police on Wednesday arrested a man who claims to be homeless in this week’s robbery of a credit union in Pierce Twp.

Christopher Brown was arrested at about 1 a.m. Wednesday at the Red Roof Inn on Mount Carmel Tobasco Road, according to the police department, which was assisted by officers from the Clermont County Narcotics Unit and Union Twp. police.

The 34-year-old suspect has been charged with one count of robbery and is in the Clermont County Jail. An officer with the department said the charge indicates that Brown was not armed at the time of the offense, which occurred Monday afternoon.

That same officer was able to confirm that the man who was arrested Wednesday is the same man featured in still photos taken from surveillance video at the credit union during the robbery.

Pierce Twp. police said that according to a preliminary investigation, a white male believed to be in his 20s walked into the Kemba Credit Union, 1135 Ohio Pike, at about 4 p.m. on Jan. 28, demanded cash and fled on foot.

The robber was described as wearing a dark colored hoodie and blue jeans. No one was hurt in the robbery, police said.
