A Hamilton man who was tracked down by police dogs after robbing a West Side drive-through for a carton of cigarettes and some cash at knifepoint, was also arrested Thursday for a pair of residential burglaries earlier this week.

Hamilton police said Jasen Myers, 30, allegedly displayed a knife and demanded money and took a carton of Marlboro cigarettes about 8:50 p.m. from Minnick’s Drive Thru, 940 Pyramid Hill Blvd., then fled the business on foot.

Police as well as a K-9 unit from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office searched for Myers and found him at his home in the 1500 block of Biscayne Drive.

After Myers was apprehended, police learned he had an active warrant from Hamilton Municipal Court on another charge.

As detectives began investigating the case, it was learned that Myers was also a suspect in two recent burglaries that occurred earlier this week.

Detectives alleged that Myers broke into a residence in the 400 block of C Street on Wednesday and into another residence in the 500 block of Valleyview Drive on Monday. Police alleged Myers stole property from both residences.

Myers is also accused of attempted to break-in to a residence in the 200 block of South D Street on June 28. Police say Myers tried to open two rear windows and also tried to get a window air conditioner from the window. However, police said Myers did not gain entry into the residence.

Police charged Myers with receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony; aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony; two counts of burglary, both second-degree felonies; and attempted burglary, a third-degree felony.

Myers is being held under a $250,123 bond at the Butler County Jail.

Myers, who has a long record dating back to 1999, is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing at 8 a.m. July 20 in Hamilton Municipal Court.
