June 8

A person riding a bike about 3:35 p.m. in an alley in the 1800 block of Parrish Avenue told police he had to swerve out of the way of a car driving toward him at a high rate of speed. The cyclist fell of the bike and sustained minor injuries.

An overnight break-in was reported in the 1100 block of 13th Street when someone jumped over a fence and stole a bicycle from the front porch.

The front window was damaged at the Rags to Richard’s store, 557 Main St. between 5 and 6:30 a.m. About $5,200 in professional sports team hats and jerseys were taken. Damage to the front window was estimated at $1,200.

Someone set fire to an old couch that was sitting by a garage about 10:15 p.m. in the 200 block of Williams Avenue.

A diaper bag containing personal documents were taken from the bottom of a stroller between 7 and 10 p.m. in the area of North E and Elvin streets.

A rock was tossed through an apartment window about 8 p.m. in the 900 block of Gordon Smith Boulevard.

A glasstop stove, two air conditioning window units, a free standing air conditioning unit, a flat screen television, three battery operated toy vehicles, a family rocker and a modem and router for cable and a computer were taken between April 1 and June 8 from a residence in the 800 block of Joe Nuxhall Boulevard. The total amount lost was reported at $2,400.

Four checks were stolen overnight from a residence in the 1900 block of Howell Avenue. Three of the checks have been cashed for more than $500.

A woman said a man was impersonating a police officer about 11:15 p.m. in the 2200 block of Freeman Avenue.

June 9

A radio and a 4X4 console was taken from a truck parked overnight in the 500 block of Prytania Avenue.

An assault was reported about 2:20 p.m. in the 200 block of Laurel Avenue.

A video surveillance system was taken about 11 a.m. from the SMART Paper plant, 601 N. B Street. The system was owned by Myron Bowling Auctioneers, 14 Normandy Drive, Fairfield.

A BB gun was used overnight to damage a windshield to a car parked in the 1900 block of Pleasant Avenue.
