FRANKLIN — Franklin police have arrested one adult and two juveniles in connection with more than 30 acts of vandalism, according to police chief Russ Whitman.
The acts of vandalism included spray paint and broken windows and panels on Elaine Drive, Skokiaan Drive, David Boulevard, Mission Lane and at the Franklin Community Park. The items damaged ranged from vehicles, buildings, street signs, lamp posts, yard decorations, pavement and a church sign. The amount of damage done has not yet been determined, Whitman said.
Terrence Ransom, 18, of Highridge Court in Franklin, was arrested early Tuesday morning and has been charged with criminal damaging, a second degree misdemeanor that carries up to 90 days in jail and a maximum of $750 in fines for each offense.
He could face additional charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, Whitman said, adding that will be determined by the juvenile prosecutor.
Charges for the two male juveniles, ages 12 and 14, will also be determined by the juvenile prosecutor, Whitman said.
An officer patrolling the Elaine Drive area heard a noise, Whitman said, and upon checking out the noise found a vehicle that had been spray painted. Further investigation led to the discovery of more damages.
“We have not determined yet who is responsible for which acts of vandalism,” Whitman said. “But we should be able to make that determination through the investigation.”
Additional charges are pending upon further investigation. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Franklin Police Department Det. Stephen Figliola at (937) 746-2882.
