MASSILLON, Stark County —

An AMBER Alert issued for a 17-month-old child and his mother in Massillon, Stark County, has been canceled, Massillon police said. Police, when contacted just after 8 tonight, declined to immediately release details regarding what led to the cancellation.

WOIO-TV in Cleveland, a CBS affiliate, is reporting that the woman’s father is saying his daughter and her child were found safe.

The statewide alert, characterized by police as an investigation into a possible abduction, was issued at about 6:30 p.m. for 17-month-old Otise or O’Tise Hasker and his mom, 21-year-old Marshia Hasker, who were last seen in Massillon, Stark County, at about 5:01 p.m.

According to the alert, they were believed to have been taken by three males wearing gray hooded shirts or sweatshirts.

The Massillon Police Department, the agency that issued the alert, said the suspects are believed to be driving a gold and tan Buick Century bearing Ohio license plates. The plate number was not immediately available.

The child and mom were last seen at 1718 14th St., in Massillon.

Stark County is in northeast Ohio, eight miles west of Canton and 20 miles south of Akron. AMBER Alerts are issued statewide for law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for information that might assist the home issuing police agency in its investigation.
