Christmas baking turns to oven fire in Mason

MASON —

A possible structure fire today in Mason was contained to an oven.

Residents at a home in the 500 block of Duane Drive reported hearing a noise in their oven before it caught fire just before 4 p.m., emergency dispatchers report.

Lt. Tom Wentzel of Mason Fire said two people were home when the kitchen fire ignited as they were baking Christmas cookies.

Wentzel said the fire was contained to the oven, with no damage to the structure.

Crews from Loveland and Deerfield Twp. also responded. No injuries were reported.
