Crews extinguish school bus fire

LIBERTY TWP. —

Traffic was shut down at a busy intersection for 40 minutes today as crews battled a fire on a school bus.

The bus was at the corner of Yankee and Princeton roads and on its way to Lakota School District’s garage around 4:05 p.m. when it caught fire, according to emergency dispatchers. No children were aboard at the time.

Crews managed to extinguish the blaze by about 4:30 p.m. and reopen the road around 4:45 p.m., dispatchers said.
