Child struck on bike near school

LIBERTY TWP. —

A child was struck by a car today not far from Cherokee Elementary School.

Around 4 p.m., a female juvenile was reported hit by a car on Kyles Station Road at Aspen Trails Boulevard, according to Butler County Sheriff’s dispatchers.

The Ohio Highway Patrol responded to the incident first and is handling the investigation.

Sgt. Brian Bost said a girl on a bicycle was crossing Kyles Station Road when she was hit by an Acura SUV.

The child was taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center Liberty Campus with non-life threatening injuries.

Bost said he’s unsure if the child was wearing a bicycle helmet, but there is no crosswalk where she was hit. The incident occurred less than half a mile west of Cherokee Elementary School.
